Legacy 5 Garden of Skye
The Sleat Peninsula - Slèite in Gaelic - in the South of the Isle of Skye is where we call home. Known as The Garden of Skye, it is gentler and greener than the rest of the island.
This fifth and final chapter in our exploratory Legacy Series, brings its first unpeated release.
This is Torabhaig in a new light and unmistakably ours: grown from the same roots, but without the smoke that characterises our house style.
The Whisky
The first unpeated release in our exploratory Legacy Series, Matured in bourbon, Californian red wine casks, and toasted and charred first-fill European oak casks.
Expect notes of summer berries, orchard fruit, vanilla custard and gentle oak spice. Torabhaig in a new light, grown from the same roots, without the smoke.

TASTING NOTES
Nose
Bright and inviting, with notes of fresh orchard fruits, ripe apricot and nectarine complemented by summer berries. Honeyed malt and vanilla custard emerge with time in the glass, layered with gentle toasted oak and delicate spice. Beneath the fruit and sweetness lies a subtle maritime freshness, characteristic of Torabhaig's island origin.
Palate
Elegant and approachable with a light, refined mouthfeel. Honeyed grain, vanilla cream and fresh stone fruits lead the way, followed by notes of ripe berries and soft orchard fruit. The influence of the toasted and charred new oak casks bring gentle oak structure and delicate spice, while the wine casks contribute subtle fruit complexity without overwhelming the spirit. Balanced and nuanced, allowing the distillery character to remain at the forefront.
Finish
Long, clean and with lingering vanilla, sweet malt and fresh fruit gradually give way to gentle oak spice and a delicate mineral freshness. Refined and balanced, with the spirit character carrying through to the end
