Caisteal Chamuis 12-Year-Old begins with a careful selection of Island Malts, aged for a full twelve years in refill American Oak Hogsheads. These malts are then re-aged in a combination of Oloroso Sherry casks, including our own Solera. The age has mellowed the maritime punch of the peat, while the sherry cask finishing adds a layer of seductive oak spice and a touch of sweetness. The result is a rich whisky, abundant in residual phenolic flavors, with a distinctive smoky finish that lingers beautifully.
