This limited edition release in our exclusive Club Reserve series was distilled in 2017 and matured for 5 years in a First Fill American Standard Barrel (ASB). Bottled at cask strength with no chill filtration or added coloring, this expression offers a bold and unfiltered exploration of Torabhaig’s heavily peated single malt. It captures the robust character of our spirit, enriched by the depth and complexity of the American oak cask, making it a prized addition to any collection.
NOSE: The nose presents a harmonious blend of citrus and maritime aromas, accented by mellow peat smoke. There are additional layers of grilled oysters with a squeeze of lemon, hints of burning herbs, and a touch of wood varnish. Sweet notes of cotton candy and saltwater taffy linger in the background, with a subtle hint of menthol emerging when water is added.
PALATE: The palate is medium-bodied and slightly oily, with bright brine and grilled oysters taking the forefront. A squeeze of lemon and a dash of chili sauce add a zesty kick, while boardwalk confectioneries like cotton candy make an appearance, alongside herbal spices and subtle vegetal notes. The whisky is youthful and spirited, with water bringing out more fruit and taming the peppery finish.
FINISH: The finish is medium to long, marked by brine, wood, subtle candy sweetness, and a bright peppery note that lingers.
