The 2017 release marked the inaugural chapter in the Torabhaig Legacy Series, showcasing the very first expression of our distillery's signature style. This heavily peated single malt is crafted from Concerto malted barley and matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels. It introduces our well-tempered peat profile, with notes of smoke, maritime brine, and a subtle sweetness that reflects the rugged beauty of the Isle of Skye. This release is a rare and collectible whisky that captures the early spirit of Torabhaig.
NOSE: A gentle wave of peat smoke, softly intertwining with the bright zest of citrus fruits. Freshly sliced apples and pears emerge, underpinned by subtle hints of vanilla and the faintest trace of smoldering embers.
PALATE: The initial sip reveals a soft smokiness that gradually intensifies, bringing forth flavors of charred wood and a touch of sweet malt. This is balanced by spicy black pepper and the warmth of cinnamon, with a creamy vanilla undertone adding depth.
