A lot can happen in 5 years. When we first fired up the stills in 2017, we were looking into the unknown in many ways. We had a brand new distillery in a 200 year old farm steading, a brand new local team of brewers and distillers with no prior experience, and a vision for what we hoped would become an island whisky with its own distinctive style. Today, much is still unknown, and we are continuing to learn every day, but we have 5 years of distilling under our belts, and we are 5 years closer to understanding how our spirit develops through the ageing cycle and how what we hope will be the core Torabhaig Single Malt Whisky, our 10 year old, will represent in terms of flavour development.

Releasing our first ever whisky to carry an age statement is quite a milestone for us all, but perhaps the bigger milestone is releasing it to you. So many of you have been with us from the very start, or earlier still, keeping a keen eye on plans for the distillery, and joining The Peat Elite once the opportunity presented itself. This release, the fifth whisky we have bottled to date, is the next step on our journey together, and we can’t wait to hear what you think.
